Crock-Roasted Chicken with Rotisserie-Style Rub

Delicious Chicken! Be sure to use the bones to make a flavorful broth or soup afterwards.

Ingredients

  • (1, approximately 3.5lbs) Whole Chicken
  • (2 tsp) Smoked Paprika
  • (2 tsp) Chili Powder
  • (2 tsp) Sea Salt
  • (1 tsp) Onion Powder
  • (1/2 tsp) Cayenne Pepper
  • (1/2 tsp) Garlic Salt
  • (1/2 tsp) Celery Salt
  • (1/2 tsp) Black Pepper

Directions

Rinse & Pat dry the chicken

Coat the inside of the crock with butter

In a small bowl, combine all the seasonings. Add warm water by the teaspoon, stiring well after each addition, to make a thick paste.

Coat the chicken with the seasoning paste

Place in crock, breast side up.

Cover and cook on high for 3.5-4.5 hrs or on low for 6-7 hrs until a thermometer inserted in the thigh registers 170*F. 

Use juices to make a gravy & serve!
